Baby bamboo shoots are delicious, and full-grown bamboo looks so pretty. However, it’s more than a prop for Chinese kung fu films and food for panda. Bamboo is rich in silica, a nutrient that helps to keep our skin and hair healthy. It also helps the body to absorb essential minerals such as calcium, potassium, and magnesium. While it is beneficial when consumed as bamboo shoots, it is also beneficial in skincare products.
Bamboo powder are smoother and less rough than other exfoliant such as salt or nut shells, which makes it great for sensitive skin. Bamboo fibers are softer (and more eco-friendly) than cotton while containing natural antibacterial, hypoallergenic, and deodorizing properties. Bamboo sap is rich in minerals and amino acids and acts as a humectant to draw moisture into the deeper layers of skin and help maintain hydration. It strengthen and smooth skin while aiding skin cell regeneration. Bamboo extract is a natural anti-oxidant that fights the pollutants, toxins and free radicals we encounter every day.Bamboo extract also offers anti-irritant properties, soothing the skin when applied directly through lotions or creams, which makes it great for people suffering from eczema and psoriasis.
Skin Type: dry, aging and irritated/sensitive skin.

Nature Republic Real Nature Mask Sheet, Bamboo
My take: The sheet mask have a strong alcohol perfumed scent. It might be floral but all I can think of is “oh man, alcohol…” The serum have a liquidy, slightly slippery gel consistency. The sheet is thin, sturdy and a tad bigger than average. Skin feels refreshed and moisturized after taking it off, but when I patted on leftover serum it start to feel a tad sticky/greasy. I recommend saving the serum for next day if you’ve got oily/combo skin.
Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask, Bamboo
My take: This mask also have an alcohol, woody perfumed scent. The sheet is thin and sturdy and normal sized. Skin feel refreshed and moisturized after taking the sheet off, but feels a little sticky after patting on leftover. Again, save the leftover for next day if you’ve got oily/combo skin.
Both of them looks/feels almost the same, and the ingredients are very similar as well. The only difference is that Nature Republic have a slightly stronger scent and slightly bigger sheet. I don’t like the fact they both contain alcohol so I won’t be repurchasing either. If you do like bamboo, try AmorePacific instead.
